Institution for Suitable Actions for Prosperity (ISAP) and Peace Winds Japan (PWJ) is currently implementing Project for Improving Water Access and Agriculture Income (PIWAAI), a 3 year project with funding from Ministry of Foreign Affairs Japan (MOFA) with a goal to improve the living standards of people affected by Nepal Earthquake 2015 by reducing the water fetching time through construction of water schemes and increase agriculture income through fresh vegetable production and marketing in Sindhupalchowk district. Job Specification

Education Level : Bachelor

Experience Required : More than or equals to 3 years

Other Specification

• Bachelor’s degree in any relevant field. Master’s degree would be an added advantage
• Prior working experience of 3-5 years in development and management of infrastructural focused projects, especially WASH
• Candidates with civil engineering background or prior experience in rural water supply projects would be given preference
• Knowledge of the development sector in Nepal and its regulation and stakeholders will be an asset
• High level of computer literacy (primarily in Microsoft Office packages). Knowledge of AutoCAD would be preferred.
• Good written and spoken Nepali and English language with negotiation skills
• Willing to travel extensively to the project implemented sites and able to accommodate and adjust in difficult working conditions and tough field situations
• Self-motivated and a good team player
• Ability to take responsibility, meet deadlines and make progress with minimum supervision

Job Description

ISAP is currently looking for a suitable candidate for Project Coordinator for Project for Improving Water Access and Agriculture Income (PIWAAI) who would be stationed in the central office, Thapathali with frequent travel to the project field.

S/he would also be responsible for overall management of the WASH project activities including planning, implementation, monitoring and coordinating with relevant stakeholders. S/he should have a master’s degree in any relevant field and candidates with civil engineering background with at least three years of working experience in rural water supply would be given preference. S/he should be willing to travel extensively to the project implemented sites and able to accommodate and adjust in difficult working conditions and tough field situations.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for overall management of the WASH project activities including planning, implementation, monitoring and coordinating with relevant stakeholders
• Ensure that WASH project activities, outcomes and deliverables are met on time
• Assist Project Manager in preparing periodic report for donor and other stakeholders
• Support Project Manager to manage administration, operational, procurement and other support functions
• Co-ordinate in mitigating the identified opportunities and challenges in consultation of site WASH coordinator and site team
• Explain all the details of project related drawings, design, survey and other technicalities to donor organization and other relevant stakeholders
• Facilitate communication and coordinate with relevant government authorities/ organizations and relevant stakeholders
• Participate in workshops and meetings and represent ISAP at relevant conferences and programs
• Support the Project Manager and M&E team in the evaluation and documentation of reports, case stories, success stories, photos and videos related to the project
• Support project manager in identifying possible grants and assist in writing project proposal
• Perform other duties as assigned by the project manager
