The Role

This is an exciting and challenging opportunity in CBM Nepal country office. The individual taking on this role will facilitate the development, management and implementation of programmes in line with the CBM Federation Strategy, Country strategy and within the CBM’s Standards and Budgets through appropriate Programme Management systems. Work across teams to develop cross cutting programmes and support capacity development of the country office and programme partners for the assigned areas of specialization. On behalf of CBM act as a focal person for multiple project implementation with multiple partners.

Based: Ward Number 2 (2/KA), Sanepa, Lalitpur Municipality, Nepal

Reports to: Programme Manager

Term: 1 year with possibility of extension

Salary: Annual Gross Salary NPR 1,443,250.00 – NPR 1,623,656.00 depending upon experience.

Key responsibilities

Project management, Planning, Monitoring & Evaluation:

  • Plan, initiate and develop multi-year/annual plans and special initiatives, and monitor and report the implementation with project partners;
  • Lead the execution of multiple projects in close collaboration with the project implementing partners;
  • Responsible for project based reporting requirements and timelines;
  • Plan and coordinate financial reviews/ assessment of partners in consulting with the programme finance team and respective line managers;
  • Ensure adequate information and documentation of assigned projects and partners;
  • Support development of inclusive programmes in coordination with partners and CBM Nepal team;
  • Support cross cutting initiatives from other departments in discussion with the line manager;
  • Co-ordinate and provide reports as required on projects for internal and external stakeholders including funders;
  • Assists the finance section in the evaluation of financial statement and accounts abstract and in the preparation of accounts checklists;
  • Co-ordinates visits to partner organisations for organization related external and internal visits, and reporting.

Partnership Management and Partner support:

  • Develop a good working relationship and knowledge of partner portfolio to identify strengths, capacities, needs, potentials;
  • Communicate with partners as the first point of contact on behalf of CBM;
  • Identify needs and support the Programme Manager to organise training and capacity building for CBM Nepal partners;
  • Liaises with CBM International Office, Member Associates, project partners, consultants, advisors and co-workers who are connected to the respective projects under his/her care in coordination with the Line Manager;
  • Solicit partner feedback to improve support;
  • Initiate and support development of innovative projects/ programmes.

Capacity Building:

  • Facilitate to develop capacity building plan of partner and project team being based on the Partnership Assessment (PA);
  • Documenting and sharing of experiences and good practices followed in partners organisations;
  • Contribute in development of training materials and build capacity of partners on different aspects disability inclusion as and when appropriate;
  • Supports to plan and organize workshops/ trainings in a time bound manner and represent CBM at conferences, workshops and seminars when assigned.

Humanitarian Support:

  • In case of Emergency in the country and requirement of the organization you should be flexible to deploy in the emergency response management initiatives as per the requirement of the organization.

Experience and Knowledge

Minimum 5 years of working experience in the Development sector with a focus on project/programme management
1-2 years’ disability related experience Essential

Skill /Competencies/personal qualities

Practical computer skills (Microsoft word, Excel, PowerPoint and internet)
Proven Project Cycle Management skills
Strong Communication skill in the English language (oral & written)
Experience in planning, implementation, monitoring and financial management in the development sector
Knowledge of disability related issues, global development issues & cross cutting issues
Abide by and display CBM core values in all aspects of work
Flexible approach to work demands
Ability to work in teams and collaborate with staff at all levels
Willingness to learn, change and adapt
Well organized with the ability to multitask
Willing to travel for field level monitoring and visits

Qualification, Training & Education

Minimum 5 years of working experience in the social Development sector
1-2 years’ experience in disability related multi-lateral/international agencies
